About Mechanical Department

Mechanical Engineering is the most sought-out branch of engineering. In the constantly evolving technological scenario Mechanical Engineering has been the very backbone of industrial infrastructure. It is an area of study in which knowledge of mathematics and science is combined together with experience and judgment for fulfilling the practical human necessities. The formal education of a Mechanical Engineer includes subjects such as Engineering Metallurgy, Strength of Materials, Theory of Machines, Design of Machine Elements, Fluid power, Heat Transfer, Manufacturing Process, and Production technology.
Established in the year 2009 the department offers four years Bachelors Degree Program in Mechanical Engineering with an initial intake of 60 students. Intake was increased to 120 from the year 2012. Also department has Postgraduate course in Thermal engineering with intake of 24 for the year 2012-13.I feel delighted to introduce you to the Department of Mechanical Engineering; the core branch of engineering. We are imparting knowledge based education to our students.
The work is very well performed by our dedicated and highly qualified faculty members. Students are motivated to deliver on the topics taught in the classroom to develop their presenting skills right from the beginning. Our laboratories are fully equipped and well established with experienced and dedicated staff to look after the practical activities in each lab. The Department is focusing on knowledge based studies through practical approach. The overall facilities and team efforts are enough to develop technical skills in each student to become an engineer. The practical based approach of the department is founded successful in previous years. Students are interested to visit various industries and correlating the acquired knowledge with the theory learnt during the course work. It has altogether improved their writing skills, and also presenting capabilities. Many projects are being brought on the public platforms. The high moral, confidence of students has succeeded them in grabbing projects from research labs like DMRL, MGIRI, SCS Renewable Energy Ltd., Baramati. Our faculty and staff are committed to exploring maximum from students and make our students skilled engineer with societal, and human values. Best wishes.
